2012 LR4 coolant leak was created by Banjoman57
Im hoping someone can help me on this. I have a 2012 LR4 with the 5.0 engine - not supercharged. It has been leaking coolant for about 2 weeks. Water pump was replaced when I bought it in March, by the dealership.

Anyhow - car runs fine, NO codes, water temp right at the mid point. I lose about a pint of coolant every 2-3 days.

I never notice any drips when the car is parked and running - i removed the skid plates and I see wet areas, but no dripping. I also did a pressure test on the system using the Autozone kit and the system held pressure at 15psi.

Today, after a short drive - about an hour at highway speeds, i noticed the drip when i parked in my driveway (slight incline) under my car at the bolts where the front skid plate bolts to the second skid plate.

I put my hand under to feel the drip - and it was cold??? Engine was warm - at normal operating temp.

Any idea where cold coolant would be leaking from?

Was the cold water you felt just condensation from the air conditioner?

And do you smell coolant when you pop the hood after driving it for a while?

I strongly suggest you have this issue looked into immediately..It is common for a 5.0 engine to overheat without the temp gauge moving, Any loss of coolant on any Rover engine should be a matter of concern.
